1. General Questions
- How long will it take to print my order?
- Well of course that will depend on what you've ordered and the service you picked. Regardless of what you've ordered however all our work has a guaranteed turnaround time. Choose from our 14 day money saving service or if you really can’t wait then opt for our faster 7 day service.
- What are your cards made from?
- Our cards are made from PVC plastic - the proper stuff - not that flimsy encapsulated cardboard stuff that tends to fall apart. All of our cards are laminated and have rounded corners which make them last much longer, just like your bank card.
- What makes you think your cards are better?
- When you buy from The Plastic Card Shop® you are buying a guarantee that we will deliver proper plastic cards, on time. All of our cards are subjected to rigorous CardMarque® testing to guarantee consistent quality across every single card we send out.
- Can I see an actual plastic card sample with my design?
- Yes, but only on our 7 day express service. A digital PDF proof is issued with our 14 day service.
- I cannot see what I want. What can I do?
- If you're after a product that's not listed - or you need something completely bespoke - then call us on 0845 644 8171 or if you prefer you can fill out our contact form and one of our team will call you back!
2. Plastic card variants, options and things
- What thickness is a bank card?
- They are 0.76mm, same as our cards. This is the ISO standard thickness for all plastic cards.
- Can I have thinner plastic cards than the standard?
- Yes. We offer a number of different thicknesses of cards. Just call 0845 644 8171 for a bespoke quote.
- I have just got my lovely plastic card samples but where is the signature panel I asked for? Have you forgotten it?
- No we haven't forgotten you! We don't put signature panels on hard copy proofs. Rest assured that they'll be on your final cards if you've ordered them. Remember plastic card samples are only sent with 7 day service orders.
- I want to add a signature panel and maybe a number to my order, can I do this?
- It depends. If you're job is still at the proofing stage then yes, we can amend your order and take payment for the extra bits. To be sure the best thing to do is call us on 0845 644 8171 and we'll see how we can help.
3. Paying for your cards
- How can I pay for my cards?
- Predictably, you can pay with plastic online via Google Checkout! We accept all of the major cards (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, Solo, Visa Electron and Visa Delta) but unfortunately we don't accept American Express or Diners Club cards at the moment. We also accept payment by BACS or by cheque, but we can't start work on your job until the funds have cleared in our account.
- Do you charge a handling fee for card payments?
- No. Our bank still charges us but in order to keep things simple we do not pass it on.
- Do you accept cash?
- Simply put - no!
- Can I open a trade account?
- Not on your first order. Only a handful of our customers have an account with us; those who regularly order and have built up a trade history with us.
- How do I know my card details are secure?
- We take the security of our customers very seriously. We adhere to the most stringent levels of fraud screening, and make sure that our customer's details are secure throughout the transaction process. Also, we don't store any customer's card details.
- Do you keep my details?
- We do keep some of your details like your name, address and order history; but we do not store your payment details.
- Will you share my contact details with third parties?
- No chance!
4. Despatch and delivery
- How quickly can I have my cards?
- All of our lead times are guaranteed. We will deliver in either 7 or 14 working days from approval of proof.
- I need my cards faster, can you do it?
- We can normally do it for an additional charge. To make us work faster please call 0845 644 8171 and shout "help".
- How long will your standard delivery take once my cards have been printed?
- For UK deliveries we will despatch your goods with a next day overnight courier to arrive before 5:30pm. For international deliveries please contact us directly.
- What if I want an earlier courier delivery slot?
- That's fine just ask us for the extra cost on your order.
- I paid for a before 9am delivery, so where is it?
- For a pre 9am delivery the courier will attempt to deliver from 7:30am onwards. You have to make sure someone is there to sign for it.
- What happens if my order has not shown up?
- Give us a call and let us know. Although we can guarantee despatching your goods on time, we have little or no control over couriers. If you are concerned then please contact us.
5. Design help
- Can you help me with design?
- Yes we would love to help. The most successful plastic card projects have one thing in common, great design. Poor design can have the opposite effect, you have been warned.
- How long will it take to produce my card design?
- This all depends on the artwork package selected; ideally you need to leave at least 7 working days to be safe.
- How much is that going to cost me?
- We have 2 packages, basic and finest with costs starting from £79 to £129 respectively. A small price to pay to ensure you get a design that sells.
- Can I provide the design myself?
- Yes certainly. But if you haven't got a clue then let us deal with the stress of producing great artwork that gets results.
- How do I supply artwork and in what format?
- If you want to do this yourself call us on 0845 644 8171 and ask for our artwork how-to guide.
6. Returns and refunds
- Oh dear these aren't what I expected at all. What can I do?
- We are sorry to hear they are not what you expected. Give us a call and let's see if we can put it right.
- My cards have just arrived and they are damaged! What now?
- Sorry, that's such a let down. We ensure all orders leave us in satisfactory condition but it appears they must have got damaged in transit. Contact us and we will immediately send someone to collect. Once we have received them we will check the extent of the damage and rush out some new cards to you.
- Why do you want the cards back if they are damaged or not what I expected?
- We need to see what the problem is and fix it quickly so it doesn't happen to another customer. We strive to ensure only perfect cards are despatched; when they are not flawless we want to know why.
- Who pays if I have to send the cards back to you?
- We will cover the cost. Don't worry, a courier will be sent to collect them from you. Please get in touch so that we can schedule a pick-up.
- Can I get a refund?
- If you are really unhappy with your cards then talk to us, we are very understanding. After all, if you’re not happy do you think we are?
